Description
This item was designed to interface well with low-voltage SPI Flash IC’s requiring a 1.8v logic level, specifically with the T2 ROM IC in mind. The design was based mainly off the requirements listed on the mx25u3235f datasheet. This will work using just about any universal SPI programmer capable of reading SPI Flash Memory (including ch341a Programmers). With this adapter combination, you will be able to complete the following task:
- Change the serial number of a newer-model Intel-based MacBook (located on T2 ROM)
- Check the T2 ROM to ensure it is not corrupt
- Flash new T2 ROM (Can send link to repository)
The 1.8v adapter is also compatible with any 1.8v SPI Flash Memory IC that is compatible with your programmer.

Models with the new M1 chip do have a T2 ROM chip. This can be read and modified, but the serial number is no longer present on this chip (meaning you cannot modify the serial number for models with the m1 chip at this time). This product was designed for accurate reads and a small form factor. This is a great solution for those with a smaller USB programmer that is space-limited.
The T2 ROM Adapter Board does not come with the pin headers soldered to it, but I can solder them at no additional cost if you send me a message prior to shipment. Please note that there is higher probability that the header pins can be bent during shipment if it comes already soldered to the adapter board. While none of my customers have had this happen, I just want to give full disclosure prior to purchase.
